The Finished Concrete Pedestrian Bridge

Just over a week ago we were sitting at the Epic Cafe in Tucson
when I posted Building A Concrete Pedestrian Bridge using photos
I took last year showing the form work for the above bridge
 in Alamos, Sonora, Mexico.

An hour later as we were freezing in Tucson trying to decide what to do,
we decided to head back to Alamos.

What a difference an hour makes...

...and now I have photos of the finished bridge.

What a difference a year makes.

During the rainy season pedestrian bridges are a must
and they certainly take their bridges seriously here.

This is a beautiful bridge and though the structure is concrete,
the brick and stone make it something the town can be proud of.

Further down the same arroyo is this similar bridge.

They were just starting the footers on this one when we were here last year.

The brick pattern is nicely done.

Mexico may have embraced the automobile, as we have in the states,...

...but they haven't forgotten their pedestrians.

Anyone for a walk?
